Through Thought Therapy LLC
About
Through Thought Therapy was founded by Benjamin Magliocca and Michael Gilkey, two Licensed Professional Counselors from the Pittsburgh area who share a deep commitment to helping others grow and heal. Grounded in evidence-based practices and a passion for making mental health care more accessible, our mission is to create meaningful and lasting positive change within our community. We strive to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences with confidence and compassion. As partners and clinicians, we hope to create genuine impacts. Every session, every conversation, and every connection reflects our belief that change begins with understanding, and growth begins with care. At Through Thought Therapy, we’re not just helping clients move forward, we’re helping our community thrive.

Our Mission
Through Thought Therapy is a small, client-centered practice committed to creating meaningful and positive experiences for every individual we serve. Our mission is grounded in evidence-based practices that are both effective and efficient, ensuring the highest quality of care. We value integrity, compassion, and the importance of providing a supportive space where clients can freely explore their thoughts and emotions. Our goal is to empower personal growth and inspire positive change throughout every client’s journey.
Personalized Counseling Approach
Empowering Personal Growth
The clinicians in our practice tend to use an eclectic mix of multiple therapeutic approaches, such as CBT (evaluating thoughts for inaccuracies and assumptions), DBT (skill sets to help navigate and manage strong emotions and build better social interactions), Person centered (you are capable of the change that you want and using the therapeutic relationship as the vehicle for that change), as well as Choice Theory/Reality Therapy (evaluating what needs you are trying to meet and how you are trying to meet them, acknowledging control over your thoughts and your actions and using these to influence/control how you feel, and steering away from trying to control other people/situations). It is the belief of Through Thought Therapy, LLC that most people would benefit from facets of each of these approaches.
